Keeping your business’ Google Profile updated is the best way to avoid these negative impressions.
If you aren’t familiar, your Google Business Profile is what appears when people search your business name (or search for your location on Google Maps)! This is often the first point of contact with potential customers, so it is important to make sure the information listed here is accurate. Here is a link where you can manage this information:

-
The most important step is to make sure the hours listed are up to date.
-
If applicable to your business, try linking your menu to the Google profile. This way, potential customers can quickly see if your offerings meet their needs.
-
Make sure your contact information is up to date.
You can do all of this by following the link above and selecting “manage now” or “sign in” (depending on if you have already created the Google Profile or not) after that, simply add hours, photos, menus, and more!
Having accurate information here also saves time for you! It will reduce the amount of people calling looking for opening hours, or asking what the address of your business is. By making these quick changes now, you’ll save yourself more time to be present with visitors during this incredibly busy season.

Using Google Business Profile
Using Google Business Profile to its full capacity
A few years ago after a long hike, I remember feeling so excited to grab some food at a local restaurant. I had looked them up online, and it said they were open until 9pm. The closer I got to their front door though, I noticed the dark interior and the lack of cars in the parking lot… They were closed. Google was wrong and I was starving. This didn’t leave a great impression, and if I’m being honest, didn’t put that restaurant on the top of my ‘to visit’ list.
