There are a few easy steps to take to make your Facebook page most useful for customers though.

  1. Link your website in the “about” section, if applicable.

    1. The “about section” is located on the left side of your business page. To change this, you’ll scroll down until you see the “about” section, then you can either select the little pencil on the side, or select “Edit Page Info.” Make sure to save it before you leave the page!

Using Facebook to highlight your business

Highlighting Your Business on Facebook

Did you know that Facebook is the only social media platform that 100% of local businesses are using? This platform is a quick and easy way to connect with potential customers and keep them up to date on your business.

Here’s an example from Cobbler’s Lane Fudge Factory, in Sussex, you can see their website is listed right below the people that like this page (and you can also see how delicious their ice cream looks, I am tempted to drive up there right now)!

2. Add your business hours in the “about” section, and keep them up to date.

  1. To do this, you’ll follow the same steps as you followed to add a website!

In this example, from Tipsy Tails, in Alma, you’ll notice that they have hours listed for every day of the week, and that these were updated about two months ago - which tells Facebook users that they are likely up-to-date!

3. Use the “pinned” post function to keep the most important information at the top of your page.

  1. You can do this by clicking the three dots at the top right of a post, and then selecting “pin to top of page.”

Here’s an example from the Rising Tide Festival FB page, who used their pinned post to highlight the lineup for this year’s event!

Besides that, make sure to post often and interact with customers by answering direct messages and replying to comments! You can also share posts from neighboring businesses to create a sense of community online! All of these tips should take less than 5 minutes to complete and will make your Facebook page useful and engaging for potential visitors!
